The use of the Graduate School research rooms(updated on 9/4)

To all GS students

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 infection, Doshisha University has restricted all students from entering the campus. The whole Spring Semester has been a tough time for all of us, indeed. We must take adequate measures to stem the spread of the pandemic while advancing our research activities. To that end, responsible decisions and the willing cooperation of graduate students are essential. We have entered the next phase toward normalization. Let us cope with the present difficulties and make progress in our research.

According to the University's response to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the Graduate School of Global Studies set the use of the Graduate School research rooms as follows.

Procedures for entry
No prior application to the office is required.
At the entrance of each research rooms, we equipped facilities so that the number of students can be managed by the students themselves. Please keep in track of the maximum number of people (9 people) by yourselves.


Friday, September 11th to Sunday, September 20th

Open:Weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00(Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are unavailable)

<A.M.=9:00~13:00><P.M.=13:00~17:00>
【odd number at the last digit of student ID】Mon・Wed・Fri:A.M. / Tue・Thu:P.M.
【even number at the last digit of student ID】Mon・Wed・Fri:P.M. / Tue・Thu:A.M.
※Students who are out of their designated time may be allowed to use the room if the room has not reached the maximum number of people.
However, please note that the students who are at their designated time/ day are prioritized to use the research room.

Please cooperate in avoiding “3 Cs” (= confined spaces, crowded places, close contact) by having doors and windows opened.
We have individual partitions set on each table, but please be sure to leave more than one seat open in between other students and not sit next to each other.


After September 21st (Monday/Holiday)

Open:Weekdays from 8:00 to 22:30

However, please note that the students who are at their designated time/ day are prioritized to use the research room.

If you want to use the research rooms on the premises from 22:30 at night to 8:00 the next morning, or on holidays, please submit the “Request for Residency/Entry” to the office and obtain approval in advance.

Please cooperate in avoiding “3 Cs” (= confined spaces, crowded places,close contact) by having doors and windows opened.
We have individual partitions set on each table, but please be sure to leave more than one seat open in between other students and not sit next to each other.


・For campus entry, please follow either ①,② or ③.
 ①Install COVID-19 Emergency Contact Service "Kokotoro" by Kyoto Prefecture
 ②COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application “COCOA”
 ③Self record your action history for the past few weeks (where did you go/ whom did you see)
・On the day of entry, please check the temperature when you wake up and confirm that it is normal before coming.
・If you have a fever, sore throat, sickness, etc., you will not be allowed to enter the facility.
・Be sure to wear a mask.
・Please disinfect your fingers with the sanitizers at the counter.
・Please minimize the length of stay in the facility after use, and leave the facility immediately without staying on campus.
